PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND 2011
PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND 2011 is being organised for 19-26 September 2011. On this 8‑day trip, 3 nights will be in Mount of Beatitudes Hostel and 4 nights in Bethlehem. There will be daily Mass, and visits will include;
Lake of Galilee,
Capernaum,
Nazareth,
Mount Tabor,
Jericho,
Dead Sea,
full day in Jerusalem
as well as the opportunity to meet and talk to local people at Bethlehem University and after Sunday Mass in a local village.
Cost of £950 includes all travel from and back to airport in England, half board in a shared room (single supplement £200), known taxes, guiding and entrance fees. Booking forms and full itinerary are available from the back of Church/Hall. Fr Paul Maddison, who has just returned from his 39th trip to the Holy Land and works to forge links between diocesan parishes and communities in the Occupied Territories, has organised the itinerary. As he explained in his talk last Wednesday, a pilgrimage to the Holy Land is not just an opportunity for a personal spiritual experience but also a clear message of support for the ever decreasing Christian community there.
